Abraham Lincoln '04
Kristen is a 2004 graduate of Abraham Lincoln High School. She went to Kirn Middle School and Pusey Elementary.
Kristen found a love for broadcasting and journalism in high school when she produced AL’s weekly newscast and was editor-in-chief of the Crimson and Blue yearbook. She pursued her passion by getting a degree in Mass Communications at the University of South Dakota.
After graduating she moved back to Council Bluffs and accepted a job as a part-time assignment editor at Fox 42. A few months in she was promoted to a news producer and now runs the department as News Manager. She has a staff of reporters that she closely works with to put together a 9pm nightly newscast. She is also in charge of growing ratings, building relationships in the community and being an advocate for viewers. Occasionally she gets to get out of the newsroom to cover interesting things like court cases, breaking news, American Idol auditions and goat rescues.
Kristen is single and doesn’t have any children but loves spending time with her energetic niece, Blayne. In her free time Kristen enjoys concerts, movies, road trips, camping, cooking, volleyball at the mile-a-way and spending time with family and friends. She recently organized AL’s 10 year reunion.
